September 22, 2026: Changjiang Nonferrous Metals quoted A00 aluminum at CNY 24,260–24,280 per metric tonne, averaging CNY 24,270, down CNY 50 from the preceding quotation. The published reference is for Shanghai delivery and should be read as a spot benchmark, not a finished-panel price.

Shanghai Metals Market separately reported that its SMM A00 average fell CNY 50 per tonne on September 22, matching the direction and scale of the Changjiang move. These are distinct price assessments with their own delivery and sampling definitions; the Changjiang quotation above remains our fixed headline benchmark.

SMM’s same-day spot commentary described the SHFE aluminum screen as lower than the comparable previous-day period, with physical A00 transactions around flat to a CNY 20-per-tonne premium to the October 2026 futures contract. We do not infer a final futures settlement from that intraday observation.

  • Delivery basis: Published A00 values are spot references; freight and delivery location affect the landed cost.
  • Fabrication: Panel geometry, perforation, forming and edge details affect conversion costs.
